Sprinkler Systems, if installed, operate under heat. There are various coloured sprinkler heads that operate at different temperatures, however most sprinkler heads in an average workplace are red in colour. The red sprinkler heads operate at approximately 68 -72 degrees and operate individually (one does not trigger another).
In basic terms, a small air bubble inside the sprinkler head will expand under heat and break the bulb once a given temperature is reached. Sprinklers are designed to keep a fire in check and in some cases, can fully extinguish a fire before the fire service arrives.
